Colombian economics traditionally based on the agriculture and cultivation of coffee has diversified with the passage of time. Nowadays the Colombian export, apart from the coffee that constitutes approximately a half of total value of Colombian exports, comprises petrol (35% of Colombian exports), carbon,  emeralds (95% of World's production), bananas, nickel, flowers, handicrafts, textiles and others. 

Colombian economics is the fourth biggest in South America after Brasil, Mexico and Argentina.
